DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced, licensed, and business-minded Electrical Contractor to support commercial and residential development projects throughout Puerto Rico independently. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their own business with the assistance and funding support of Lockhart Management and take on full project ownership-from investment and equipment procurement to execution and team leadership. The selected contractor must be capable of independently managing all aspects of project execution, while benefiting from the assistance and funding support of Lockhart Management. The role involves managing electrical installations for large-scale commercial buildings and warehouses, with the opportunity to build and lead a team of electrician Techs.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide capital and cash flow to initiate and operate electrical contracting activities.
  • Procure, supply, and maintain all tools, vehicles, and equipment necessary for operations.
  • Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Wire switchgears and handle all system installations for projects.
  • Install and maintain power, lighting, and backup systems for large commercial spaces.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems as needed.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with general contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC and local building codes.
  • Hire, lead, and supervise a small crew (4-6 electricians).
  • Always maintain high safety and quality standards.
Requirements
  • Valid Puerto Rico Electrical Contractor License
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial electrical work.
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial building projects (e.g., 4 buildings of 100,000 sq ft each and future additional properties in the future, as the company continues growing).
  • Proven ability to operate as an independent contractor with the support of the company to grow an independent business.
  • Skilled in reading plans, installing switchgears, and troubleshooting large systems.
  • Experience hiring and managing field electrician assistants and crew teams.
  • Must have previous experience in purchasing equipment and vendor negotiations to achieve the best possible price for systems and equipment.
