*POSITION SUMMARY:*The Executive Officer serves as the leader of the Association and is accountable directly to the Board of Directors. In partnership with the Board, this position provides visionary leadership and is responsible for the YMCA's strategic direction, financial sustainability, operational excellence, and community impact.The Executive Officer ensures that the organization fulfills its mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, while safeguarding governance integrity, fiscal stewardship, and long-term sustainability.*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*1. Serves as chief executive officer and primary liaison to the Board of Directors, ensuring effective implementation of Board-approved policies, plans, strategic priorities, and directives, and providing timely, accurate reporting on organizational performance, risks, and opportunities.2. Provides visionary, cause-driven leadership, aligning all programs, operations, and initiatives with the YMCA's mission, values, and strategic plan.3. Leads the development and execution of the strategic plan and annual operating plans, establishing performance metrics and ensuring continuous improvement and achievement of organizational goals.4. Develops and recommends annual operating and capital budgets for Board approval, ensuring prudent fiscal management and long-term financial sustainability.5. Champions philanthropic development efforts, securing resources to support operations, capital investments, and strategic growth initiatives.6. Oversees all YMCA operations and programs, ensuring alignment with mission, adherence to national standards, innovation, and responsiveness to evolving community needs.7. Directs and develops the senior leadership team, fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture through effective workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.8. Shall utilize data-driven decision making by monitoring key performance metrics related to membership growth, program outcomes, financial health and community impact to inform strategic priorities and operational improvements.9. Ensures effective financial oversight, including monitoring budget execution, achieving revenue targets, and maintaining appropriate operating margins in alignment with Board-approved plans.10. Anticipates and addresses emerging risks and opportunities, positioning the YMCA as a resilient, innovative and trusted community leader.11. Develops and maintains strong relationships locally and across the state, regional, national, and international YMCA movement, advancing mission alignment and shared impact.12. Maintains accountability for organizational performance, ensuring operational effectiveness and measurable mission impact.13. Serves as chief spokesperson and public representative of the YMCA before government entities, community partners, schools, nonprofit organizations, and corporations.14. Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across all programs and administrative functions.16. Supervises the Deputy Executive Director and coordinate in his/her absence the operational continuance of the organization's operations to ensure leadership continuity and organizational stability.17. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.*QUALIFICATIONS:*1. Bachelor's degree and graduate degree preferred.2. Ten or more years' broad management experience, and/or not-for-profit sector, including strategic planning, board and volunteer development, philanthropic development, multi-site operations and or similar experience in private or public organizations.3. YMCA Organizational Leader certificate is required within three years from date of hire.4. Insight and skill to effectively lead a voluntary, not-for-profit organization within a complex internal and external environment.5. Demonstrated experience in team work coordination, budget management, community relations, financial development, financial management, and board and volunteer development.6. Ability to attract, retain, lead and motivate quality staff and volunteer leadership.7. Knowledge and understanding of community resources and the ability to engage and partner these resources with the YMCA to meet strategic objectives.8. Must be regarded as a peer to other top-level community leaders.9. Must have commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics.10. Must be an articulate spokesperson on behalf of the YMCA.11. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Ability to speak English may be helpful.12. An understanding of the national and international relationships of the YMCA is preferred.Work Location: In person
