The information provided below are the minimum requirements and qualification expected from the proposed candidate:
  • Qualifying candidates must possess, at least, 20+ years of experience managing the whole projects cycle in pharmaceutical environment.
  • Candidate must have a minimum a BS in Engineering, preferable in Mechanical Engineering but with extended knowledge in all other Engineering trades (civil, electrical/instrumentation).
  • Candidate must be self-started, with high technical knowledge, must work independently and with minimal or no supervision from the Capital Projects Lead.
  • Candidate shall have applicable safety trainings for the industry at least 30 HRS OSHA Certification.
  • Candidate must have experience in Capital Projects process such as: funding request package documentation, schedule development, monitoring and update, cost estimate development and revision, project status presentation to management, excellent writing skills and scope expansion.
  • Candidate must have excellent negotiation skills including change orders evaluation.
  • Candidate must lead the weekly meeting with stakeholders and generate/distribute meeting minutes including action items.
  • Candidate must assure that the design is in compliance with latest BMS Engineering Design Standards
  • Candidates must be capable of reading and interpret general construction drawings, P&IDs, shop drawings, submittals, sketches, requests for information, field directives, specifications, design standards, guidelines, schedules, and any other deemed necessary construction document to always ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Candidate must ensure that all drawings revisions are current in his/her set of drawings and available at field in Construction Contractors & Subcontractors packages. This also apply to specific system shop drawings including but not limited to applicable shop drawings, Issued for Construction Drawings for each project, manufacturer cut-sheets, manufacturer standard details, product application procedure documents, revisions related to field directives and any other drawings or documents associated to project completion and design.
  • Candidate must have experience developing and managing submittal and RFI logs.
  • Manage all request for information (RFI’s) from submission to obtaining and sending final answer to the Construction Contractor. It is required to analyze the provided answer regarding constructability, field conditions, schedule, and feasibility before distribution to related parties. Any discrepancy or unsuitability of provided answer must be discussed with designer prior to send it to contractor. Also, analysis shall bring associated costs, risks, possible alternates, and schedule analysis.
  • Request from Construction Contractors all required EHS Documents that need revision and approval. This must be coordinated with project Safety Officer, so documents are approved. The Senior Project Manager must provide follow up to documents that need BMS approval prior to performing any field activity.
  • Participate in project walkthroughs and be the first link to inspection visits. Afterwards, prepare a report with photos and observations made in the walkthrough or inspection visit. The documentation of corrections must be done through Quality Assurance forms.
  • Project Manager is responsible of verifying/confirming that all materials and equipment’s are following the approved submittal and specifications. Generate a Quality Form to document inspection, gather field information and provide compliance backup documents.
  • Provide coordination and manage multiple trades at the same time in a safe manner.
  • Identify, define, and coordinate with sufficient time all works that have impact to normal operations or that require decisions from area owners. Communicate impact assessment to Capital Projects Lead so information can be escalated to proper forums for approval if needed. Note: Sufficient time means that resource has notified the activities in the timeframe of three weeks to a month before the activity is scheduled to happen and has completed the impact to the operation. Resource must anticipate all required actions and documents for proper communication and coordination associated to impact to operations.
  • The Senior Project Manager is responsible of lead and perform Project Meetings and coordinating all participants. As well, prepare and distribute meeting minutes within a period of 24hrs. Keep record of all meeting minutes in the Scope Repository.
  • Supervise and maintain control of project schedule progress. Master Schedule shall be maintained with information from Construction Contractor Schedule, but dates established in Master Schedule should always prevail. Changes to schedule must be discussed with Capital Project Lead for effectiveness and approval. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for project progress, schedule maintenance and compliance with schedule. Any delay must be shown in schedule and mitigation strategy defined with a detailed execution plan from Contractor and CM Resource.
  • Revise and make final recommendation on Applications for Payment and requested Project Change Orders. Evaluate their impact to project execution and provide alternatives if work can be done through other means. Change Orders evaluation must have backup documentation that self explains the nature of the change being requested. As well, Applications for Payment must have backup documentation that guarantees compliance with, as example, project specifications and/or drawings, evidence of satisfying testing requirements, etc.
  • Contractor payment certifications must be confirmed as accurate prior BMS evaluation for approval and shall follow Project Controls Standard 1500 IRAC Form. The Senior Project Manager must ensure that all documents, reports, and other supporting backup for the IRAC has been submitted in accordance with standards.
  • Walkdown for substantial/final completion must be clearly reflected in the working schedule. A punch list will be generated by discipline, room or area affected and status provided every day.
  • Coordinate with Validation Resources all requirement for Turnover Packages (TOP).
  • The Senior Project Manager is the principal liaison between the project, Construction Contractors, and Validation Team. Thus, he/she shall provide all necessary support for the Validation Process. This includes but no limits to providing all technical documents, field punch list corrections, and any other necessary task to deliver project as planned.
  • The Senior Project Manager resource must coordinate pest control assessment for the project implementation strategy. Therefore, walkthrough and field meeting with Pest Control Technician,
  • Pest Control Leader/Coordinator or delegate is an essential task to complete. Afterwards, implement and maintain pest control plan for the project. The pest control plan must be implemented before begin with any project activity and modified to suit field conditions as project progresses.
