Job Description:What´s the role?As a Technical Product Owner - OSS you will work across functional groups and very closely with the product management team, to help with the design and development of products to support and grow the LCPR business. This resource will also work closely with the development and delivery teams for various applications, to align and help to implement the business’s product needs within the scope of LLA’s technical capacity, based on the systems available in the IT Stack. This resource will interact with various components of the IT stack including (but not limited to) the Orchestration and Provisioning, Runbook Automation and Order Management Platforms. This individual will also support new technology and solution deployments from the LLA Center of Excellence. You will collaborate with all IT teams and OSS counterparts to support internal and external customers; by designing integrated solutions that will support LCPR Business goals.How can you add value?This individual will leverage their deep knowledge of the IT Stack to operate as a technical liaison between product management, business users and development teams. This person will be responsible for translating the product / business teams’ requirements into technical requirements. This may also require interaction with end users. This resource will also effectively communicate and document any technical, cost and timing considerations that will be relevant for the release of a new product. Detailed functions include:
  • Align product strategies with existing IT Core functionality
  • Support business owners, product managers and OSS delivery team with technical and design expertise.
  • Propose appropriate technical strategies to the Product Team that will reduce cost, complexity and time to market.
  • Analyze instances where updates to IT Core functionality should be considered based on a positive business case.
  • Support Business Owners on Important technical decisions
  • Assist with Sprint Planning (Provide Inputs)
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements to OSS Core strategy and platforms based on product request trends
  • Provide inputs to business cases for new products where applicable
  • Create and deliver user stories
  • Support product managers on important OSS technology decisions
  • Collaborate with IT Demand and OSS developers on Newly requested solutions, (including, but not limited to, agreeing the scope and functionality of the change requirements to be implemented, providing the detailed design and estimating the effort for development/configuration)
  • Work within identified Project scope and Timeline giving attention to following all identified SOX control procedures
  • Document product roadmap and any development impacts
  • Document and/or oversees and vets (in the case of vendor implementation) all OSS HLDs
  • Provide technical documentation for development initiatives related to business requests
  • Provide Inputs to OSS Strategic Roadmap
  • Contribute to IT roadmap and architecture definition
What do you need?Education and/or Experience:Bachelor degree in Technology and/or comparable technician engineering degree.Knowledge & Experience:
  • Ideally educated to degree level or alternate appropriate industry experience
  • Demonstrable experience (3-5 years) of working in a large telco in a complex operational environment managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience engaging effectively with executive and senior level management.
  • Knowledge of/exposure to:
  • Delivery of products and services to customers, managing deadlines and supporting decisions that are risk and value driven
  • Functional knowledge of key OSS components (network inventory, activation, provisioning, service assurance, network management systems, runbook automation tools)
  • Working on projects with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • TMForum frameworks (e.g. eTOM, TAM, OpenAPI)
  • Mobile Networks ( Ericsson, EDA, 3PP)
  • Experience with working in a customer focused environment essential.
  • Some software development skills preferred. – Java, Python, C++, HTML or others
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of:
  • SDLC
  • Scrum and Agile development methodologies
  • Experience in creating user Stories
  • Previous experience (in any capacity) with the following applications preferred:
  • Nokia – Flow One
  • Nokia - UIV
  • Sales Force
  • Resolve
Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven capability within the specified discipline [business requirements for IT solutions in telcos, mainly focused on OSS and/or Network Inventory platforms] at a strong functional and technical level
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, translating complex technical language into high-level executive narrative
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working partnerships at all levels through a collaborative approach
  • Demonstrate strong influencing and persuading skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established processes and achieve improvements and best practice
  • Timeliness in all actions with quality consciousness towards services received and provided
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (preferably in Spanish and English) and ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills are required, along with the ability to effectively communicate the results of all detailed analysis in a simple but effective manner.
