  • Performs all functions listed below with minimum or no supervision.
  • Under general direction, plans and organizes facility maintenance repairs and physical operation and performs related duties as required.
  • Plans, organizes, and schedules the work of various craft workers, such as calibration and facilities technicians.
  • Directs facility repairs, installations, small construction remodeling, grounds improvement, and maintenance projects; coordinates with other departments to complete remodeling projects; reviews remodeling plans for energy efficiency and proper construction methods; maintains records of materials used; orders and purchases new materials.
  • Ensures that facilities comply with state, federal and local laws, ordinances, regulations, and codes pertaining to the building industry.
  • Supervises emergency repair jobs; inspects field work performed; plans and estimates maintenance and repair work; maintains records of work order requests and completion.
  • Administers contracts; reviews work of contractors to ensure that work is completed in accordance with the timeliness and standards of quality set forth in the contract.
  • Monitor and maintain facilities operational condition within established regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Exhibit a customer-oriented behavior, by clearly understanding customers’ needs and expectations, and anticipating possible barriers or obstacles that may impact the project(s) adversely and communicating these in a timely manner.
  • Documentation must be free of errors, controlled and well-organized.
  • Manage technical issues/problems appropriately and efficiently.
  • Establish, monitor and report metrics for customer service levels and key business indicators for the division.
  • Direct the training and performance evaluations of maintenance team members.
  • Teach, mentor and train employees on maintenance and calibration activities methodologies.
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
  • Generate product certificate of compliance or test documents for required customer orders.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Provide support in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures.
  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
  • Approves Instrumentation and Facilities Technicians work orders and timesheets for further management review. Timely generates alerts when out of tolerance situations are identified while communicating to client.
  • Modify program controls; be proficient in analog, digital, and solid-state electronic circuit repair.
  • Advance operation and administration of databases such as LAN, CalPro, Maximo, SAP, Metasys, PLCs, fire, and security systems.
  • Work with all necessary internal departments to ensure compliance requirements are achieved as related to industry and customer expectations based on customer driven goals.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for area of responsibility.
  • Supplier quotation, costs, material quotation, and negotiation.
  • Scope of Work (SOW) development.
  • Initiate contractor call-in procedures when required to restore building systems.
  • Alert and update designated staff as to current status and prognosis for resumption of normal operations.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, site-specific requirements, and adheres to company standards.
  • Must be a team player committed to developing and working in a quality environment.
  • Issue performance review reports to employees under his/her supervision.
  • Complies with MENTOR’s administrative requirements timely and consistently in areas such as: weekly reports, updating of CV’s, yearly updates of medical/training records, attendance to work, etc.
  • Attend to project leaders/managers meeting, as part of job position strategic commitments, and follow-up on action items discussed.
  • Models company values and ethical behavior in all relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager, upper management or by the client.
Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field is required.
  • MBA, MS or ME is preferred.
  • 5-10 years' experience in supervisory role in GMP regulated manufacturing plant.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipment's, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
