Location: Junco, Puerto Rico, 100% on-site

Our client specializes in the manufacturing of biotech therapies to expand human kind live quality.Position Description:
The Automation Specialist will support the day-to-day manufacturing equipment operation to ensure optimal function.Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments and modifications to automated systems to add or improve their functionalities. Automated equipment includes, but is not limited to:
- PLCs (AB CompactLogix)
- HMI/SCADA system (FT View SE, ME)
- Vision Inspection systems (Cognex VisionPro, Insight)
- Develop maintenance procedures for automated systems.
- Document software and/or test development by writing documents, reports, memos, and change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
- Recommend and/or implement business continuity strategies.
- Identify obsolete parts and replacement options.
- Perform proof of concepts to assess feasibility of proposed solutions
- Develop and test backup/restore procedures.
- Participate in meetings and provide status update when required.
- Contact manufacturers and suppliers when necessary to obtain quotes or to identify solutions.
- Coordinate activities related to assigned projects and escalate when necessary to remove barriers that affect project scope and/or schedule.
- Knowledge and experience of Rockwell Automation products
- Design and programing of CompactLogix PLCs
- Design and programing of FactoryTalk applications
- Knowledge and experience of software development using visual studio
- Knowledge and experience with SQL databases.
- Previous experience in regulated industry (Pharma, Biotech, Medical Devices)
- Knowledge and experience of Vision Inspection Systems.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing traceability systems (e.g., MES)
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Fully Bilingual (Spanish-English)
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in direct pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology industries.
