- Reporting HSE incidents to management and relevant stakeholders, and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
- Facilitating and guiding incident investigations to identify root causes and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Sharing feedback and lessons learned with management and employees, leveraging best practices from within ABB and across the industry.
- Supporting and driving behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific HSE performance improvement programs.
- Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to enhance occupational health and safety.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement training programs related to safety practices, emergency response, and environmental management.
- You are highly skilled in HSE management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques within the industrial manufacturing sector.
- You have 2+ years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in a plant or industrial setting.
- (Optional) Experience working as an HSE Specialist with ISO 14001 & 50,001 International standard certifications, PROSHA VPP Programs, in a industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in specialized platforms such as SAP, Intelex, Gensuite PM-PRO or similar HSE software.
- You are passionate about continuous improvement, safety culture development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Hold current OSHA certifications valid in Puerto Rico and meet any applicable work permit or visa requirements.
