Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIn this onsite role, you will contribute to enhancing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance at the ABB Industrial C&S Arecibo Plant in Puerto Rico. You will help foster a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE by applying your expertise to support the business, offer solutions, and ensure effective risk management across the ABB value chain.Key StakeholdersYour main stakeholders will include:

Plant Operations and Maintenance Teams
Site Management and Supervisors
Corporate HSE Leadership
External Regulatory Bodies and Auditors

Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be mainly accountable for:

Reporting HSE incidents to management and relevant stakeholders, and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
Facilitating and guiding incident investigations to identify root causes and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Sharing feedback and lessons learned with management and employees, leveraging best practices from within ABB and across the industry.
Supporting and driving behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific HSE performance improvement programs.
Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to enhance occupational health and safety.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
Develop and implement training programs related to safety practices, emergency response, and environmental management.

You are highly skilled in HSE management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques within the industrial manufacturing sector.
You have 2+ years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in a plant or industrial setting.
(Optional) Experience working as an HSE Specialist with ISO 14001 & 50,001 International standard certifications, PROSHA VPP Programs, in a industrial manufacturing environment.
Proficient in specialized platforms such as SAP, Intelex, Gensuite PM-PRO or similar HSE software.
You are passionate about continuous improvement, safety culture development, and stakeholder engagement.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Hold current OSHA certifications valid in Puerto Rico and meet any applicable work permit or visa requirements.
