- Perform opening and closing procedures when scheduled for shift changes according to hotel policies and procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with all staff at the start of each shift and provide training sessions as needed.
- Record requests, assign tasks to the appropriate staff, and follow up to ensure task completion using HotSos.
- Follow and ensure compliance with all hotel key control procedures.
- Inspect the storage area, the housekeeper's carts, and cleaning products and amenities.
- Perform daily inspections of offices, public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas. Record the results of inspections and review the written inspection sheet with staff members.
- Review the department staff's performance for adherence to safety codes.
- Report necessary repairs in offices, public areas, and guest suites immediately to HotSos.
- Conduct monthly evaluations of employees who need re-training and provide daily/weekly follow-up on action plan items.
- Conduct regular inventories of department items and prepare timely supply requests to ensure that supplies are always at the appropriate levels.
- Maintain proper condition of inventories.
- Control expenses and minimize waste in all areas of the department.
- Identify and explain room features to employees.
- Enforce and ensure compliance with lost and found procedures. Report and return all lost and found items.
- Assist in deep cleaning projects. Must be able to operate floor care and carpet equipment.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Observe all relevant risk assessments for any work performed.
- Observe all OSHA regulations for any chemicals used.
- Maintain full knowledge of systems and manual systems.
- Respect any confidential information received regarding guests, staff, and management. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Anticipate guests' needs; respond promptly and acknowledge guests even when busy.
- Follow all company policies and procedures and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the director and/or manager.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language and answer phones and radios using appropriate etiquette.
- Maintain positive relationships with guests.
- Execute all instructions and tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor, as well as any additional responsibilities required by the position.
- University degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Flexible schedule (available to work overtime, daytime and nighttime shifts, holidays, and weekends).
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Customer Service oriented.
- Must be able to stand, walk, or bend. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
