Dental Assistant

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
• Manage patient records and documentation using EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
• Schedule appointments and handle patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when needed.
• Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs and medical history.
• Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as required for various dental procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
• Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
• Assist in various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.

• Proven experience in dental assisting with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining an aseptic technique.
• Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and dental terminology.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members.
• Experience with medical documentation, coding, and managing medical records is advantageous.
