- Set-up station properly and on time for each service period.
- Make sure all food is prepared by recipes designated by the supervisor.
- Make sure food quality and quantity is correct.
- Make sure food is sent to the correct area on time.
- Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner according to recipes/menu.
- After service turn off clean preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies, or procure food from storage.
- Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs.
- Keep records and accounts.
- Understands the impact of kitchen operation on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the manager.
- Hospitality oriented.
- Must be able to bend, squat, stand for long periods, stretch, reach overhead and below the knees. Able to lift-up to 60 pounds.
- Able to handle difficult situations effectively.
- Should work well under pressure, even with minimal supervision.
- Technical culinary knowledge.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same within the team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess good communication skills in Spanish and English.
