This position focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to building automation and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to minimize downtime and optimize system performance. The technician will play a key role in system installation, integration, and upgrades, ensuring that all changes comply with established change control procedures to maintain data integrity and system reliability. Additionally, the role involves developing detailed reports and managing databases to support continuous improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance. Ultimately, this position contributes to enhancing manufacturing efficiency and product quality by supporting robust automation infrastructure across the facility.Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining automation systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and building automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of change control processes and data integrity principles.
  • Proficiency in report development and database management related to automation systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Industrial Technology.
  • Experience with system integration projects and commissioning of automation equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Certification in relevant automation platforms or control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
  • Advanced skills in programming or scripting for automation system customization.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on automation systems including DCS and building automation to resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Support system installation, configuration, and integration activities to ensure new and upgraded systems function correctly within existing manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain data integrity by adhering to strict change control protocols and documenting all modifications and system updates accurately.
  • Develop and generate technical reports and documentation to track system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
  • Manage and update automation-related databases to ensure accurate and accessible information for operational and compliance purposes.
Skills:In this role, troubleshooting skills are essential for quickly identifying and resolving issues that impact manufacturing operations, ensuring minimal downtime. Data integrity and change control expertise are applied daily to maintain system accuracy and compliance with industry standards, preventing errors during system updates or modifications. System installation and integration skills enable the technician to effectively implement new automation solutions and upgrades, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Report development and database management are used to document system status, track maintenance activities, and support decision-making processes. Building automation and DCS system knowledge allow the technician to work confidently across various control platforms, enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
