Our vision is to be the most reliable insurance company through commitment to our people, prioritizing exceptional customer experience, and maintaining unwavering financial stability.We are excited for you to join our amazing team!The OpportunityResponsible for the company's compliance with government laws and regulations, identifies potential risks, implements policies and procedures to enforce laws and regulations, and monitors compliance with these by the different components of the company.A day in the life...Develops, reviews, and implements internal policies for compliance with governmental laws and regulations and ensures adherence to them.
Develops and implements a compliance program to ensure that the organization operates in accordance with state and federal laws.
Develops and maintains a culture of compliance throughout the company.
Ensures compliance with the requirements and issues of the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCS).
Responds to complaints and information requests from the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCS).
Determines compliance metrics and establishes systems to monitor them.
Advises management on compliance with the company's laws and regulations through detailed reports.
Consistently informs management about the organization's compliance with laws and regulations.
Develops and implements effective action plans in response to audit findings and compliance violations.
Conducts periodic audits to identify potential weaknesses, risks, and instances of non-compliance.
Addresses employee inquiries regarding the legal compliance of company-related matters.
Prepares and delivers reports to reinsurance companies related to specific risks or exposures.
Keeps an updated repository of USIC's Contracts.What you will need for successBachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Juris Doctor degree or License in Law.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position.
Experience in the insurance industry.
Extensive knowledge of government regulations for the insurance industry. Detailed knowledge of the various functions of a company (accounting, human resources, customer service, logistics).
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).Physical DemandsAbility to stay in stationary positions for 90% of the time (sitting, and/or standing).
Ability to move frequently around the office to access files, electronic equipment and serve the public.
Ability to perform slight movements (Loads of 10 pounds or less, pushing).
Maintains constant communication with customers and employees and is able to exchange accurate information. (Written and Oral).
Maintains constant eye contact 20 inches or less away for more than 6 hours a day when working on a computer 90% of the time. Ability to visually process writing and other materials.
It constantly works indoors and under air conditioning in regulated temperature.
